Brothers stabbed during drinking spree

Two brothers were on Sunday evening stabbed while they were imbibing alcohol at Second Street, Mibikuri, Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
Injured are 28-year-old Vijai Raganath and his younger brother, 21-year-old Ajai Raganath.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 21:10h.
Reports are that the brothers were drinking with a group of friends. However, one of their friends became involved in an argument with an unknown male.
Vijai Raganath, in efforts to resolve the argument, intervened and was allegedly stabbed to his left chest by the suspect, who was armed with a knife. Having seen what had happened to his brother, Ajai Raganath reportedly confronted the suspect, who then dealt him a stab to his right hand.
Both of the victims were rushed to the Mibikuri Public Hospital where they were admitted and are currently receiving treatment. Police have since launched an investigation. No arrest has been made. (G15)
