Old age pension has increased from $36,000 to $ 41,000
This announcement was made by Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh in his $1.382 trillion Budget 2025 presentation in the National Assembly.
According to the finance minister, this will place an additional $4.5 billion of disposable income in the hands of over 76,000 old-age pensioners.
In 2021, all old-age pensioners were given $25,000 monthly; in 2022 that sum was increased to $28,000 and in 2023 that sum increased to $33,000.
Meanwhile, public assistance has been increased to $22,000.
