The International Building Expo 2026 is proving to be more than a showcase of innovation and development, as it is also serving as a one-stop hub where members of the public can directly access a wide range of essential Government services and opportunities.
Among the agencies engaging patrons is the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL), which is providing information on its tuition-free scholarship programmes while assisting prospective applicants with the application process.

According to GOAL’s programme manager, Anika Edwards, the online application portal is currently open until July 12, and many visitors have taken the opportunity to learn about programmes ranging from short-term certificates to Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees.
“We want to tap into the interesting people who come so they can ask questions, and we can encourage them to take the opportunity to apply, especially those who need a second chance,” she said.
Particular interest has been generated by GOAL’s “Get Ready for Opportunities to Work” (GROW) programme, which offers individuals who did not complete secondary school or were unsuccessful at CSEC a pathway to continue their education.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is delivering critical healthcare services on-site, ensuring patrons can access preventative care while attending the expo.
Visitors are benefitting from free eye screenings, assistance with the Government’s eye care voucher programme, blood donation services through the National Blood Transfusion Service, random blood sugar testing, and the distribution of educational health materials.
Persons requiring corrective eyewear can also receive on-the-spot eye assessments before accessing the $15,000 spectacle voucher, making quality eye care more accessible and affordable.
With a wide range of essential services being accessible at the event, the strong response from patrons highlights the growing value of integrating public services into major national events.
The International Building Expo 2026 is eliminating barriers to access, increasing public awareness of available programmes, and ensuring more citizens benefit from the services and opportunities being delivered by the Government of Guyana.
