Corentyne carpenter’s murder
A wanted bulletin was on Wednesday issued for the alleged mastermind, Marcus Brian Bisram in the murder of Corentyne carpenter Fayez Narinedat that occurred on November 1, at Number 70 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.

The wanted bulletin was issued one day after four men were slapped with a murder charge and taken before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for beating the carpenter to death.
The bulletin stated that “Bisram is wanted by Police for questioning for Narinedat’s death”. The Police are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Bisram to contact the nearest Police Station.
On Tuesday, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum had said that the Guyana Police Force (GPF) was seeking help from United States law enforcement in its bid to question the alleged mastermind in the killing of Narinedat.
According to Crime Chief Blanhum, the Police Force has already made contact with its overseas counterparts.
The US-based Guyanese has been implicated in the murder of Narinedat, by the four suspects.
The men charged for the carpenter’s murder are excavator operator Radesh Motie, 39; labourer Harripaul Parsram, 49; hire car driver Nirone Yacoob, 37 and Diodat Datt, 18. They were not allowed to enter a plea for the murder of 27-year-old Narinedat since the matter is indictable. According to the prosecution’s case, the four men, along with others, murdered Narinedat between October 31 and November 1, 2016 at No 70 Village, Corentyne.
The matter was transferred to the Springlands Magistrate’s Court where the four men were scheduled to make their next court appearance on December 8.
Meanwhile, the two women who are said to be the wanted man’s mother and sister and allegedly attempted to pervert the course of justice by way of bribing a Police Officer at the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) with $4 million to free the four defendants were remanded.
Shermella Indarally, 45, of Lot 121, Section A, No 71 Village, Corentyne Coast, Berbice and Marriam Lionel, 25, a bank teller of Corentyne Coast, Berbice, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which stated that on November 19, 2016 at Eve Leary, Police Headquarters they offered a criminal investigative rank $4 million cash to forgo charges against the four murder accused who were at the time in custody pending investigation into the murder of Narinedatt and the involvement of Bisram who is still on the run.
The women were ordered to return to court on September 28.
The body of Narinedat was discovered about 03:45h on November 1 along the Corentyne Highway at Number 70 Village at a scene which appeared to be that of a hit- and-run accident.
Police had initially treated the incident as a hit-and-run, but reopened the investigations after relatives of the dead man kept calling for the Police to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. Relatives in a bid to get the Police’s attention produced and distributed flyers, which detailed the events leading up to Narinedat’s death, and the subsequent staging of the accident scene.
