A 24-year-old was on Friday before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged for stealing a gold detector, resisting arrest, and behaving disorderly.
Fredrick Joseph, 24, of Lot 56 Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charges read to him by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
The first charge stated that he, between August 1 and September 14, 2017, along with three others, stole one gold detector valued 0,000 from Marcia Kingswell.
The second charge against Joseph alleged that he on September 14, 2017 at Georgetown, and with intent to resist arrest, he assaulted Police Constable La Rose.
Additionally, he was charged for behaving disorderly in a public place.
The bus driver had the larceny charge against him dismissed after the virtual complainant (VC) told the court she did not wish to pursue the matter.
The Police Prosecutor had no bail objections, so Joseph was placed on bail on the disorderly behaviour and assault charges. As such, he was released on ,000 bail.
His case will continue on September 21.
