Business School edged Charlestown Secondary 2-1 to book their round-of-sixteen spot in the sixth annual Milo Schools Football Tournament which continued on Wednesday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

for the first half. Raymond Boddie brought it level via a curling chip from left side in the 64th.
With the result looking all certain for a share in points Padmore engineered a lapse in Charlestown’s defence which led to an own goal in the 68th.
Meanwhile, what was poised to be scorching top-of-the table clash between Chase Academic Foundation and Annandale Secondary was cut short after the first half due to a power outage at the facility. However, the organisers confirmed that the match will be replayed at a later date.
The entertaining first half saw three goals, all by the three-time defending champions but not before they resisted some pressure from the East Coast Demerara unit.

penalty area but lacked the finishing edge to grab the early lead.
Chase rebounded with captain Jeremy Garrett leading from the front with a sensational penalty kick in the seventh minute. From about 25 yards Garrett pulled one of the top draw, beating the wall and the diving custodian to the top right of the net.
Next was Stephon Reynonlds acrobatically guiding a lose-ball into the net in the 22nd minute followed by Nicholas McArthur scoring a penalty in the 33rd.
With the competition taking a break on Saturday due to the Republic Anniversary celebrations, the lifeline battles will continue on Sunday with Friendship Secondary tackling Carmel Secondary from noon followed by South Ruimveldt Secondary and Buxton Youth Development from 13:30h.
The final two matches pit Queen’s College against Queenstown Secondary from 15:00h then a duel of Masters Academy and Lodge Secondary from 16:30h.
The under-18 tournament which is a collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health is played under the theme “there is excuse for violence”.
