Businessman arraigned for discharging loaded firearm

Charged with discharging a loaded firearm at a man with intent to harm him, businessman Steve Bacchus was on Thursday released on $150,000 bail after entering a not guilty plea.
Bacchus appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Police stated that June 18, 2021, at Sophia, Greater Georgetown, Bacchus discharged a loaded firearm at Neilson Pratt with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or cause grievous bodily harm.
The matter has been adjourned until August 20.
Bacchus has been ordered to report to the Prashad Nagar Police Station every Monday until the hearing and determination of the matter.
Meanwhile, in another case before the same Magistrate, 57-year-old Darrell Scott was granted bail on a narcotics charge.
The Lamaha Street, Georgetown resident pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on June 23, at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, he had seven grams of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was released on $60,000 bail and will also make his next court appearance on August 20.
