Buxton businessman busted with ganja in home

A Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD) businessman was arrested on Saturday following the discovery of over two kilograms of marijuana in his home.
Based on reports received, a team of Police ranks, acting on information, went to the home of the 65-year-old businessman of Middle Walk, Buxton, ECD, and conducted a search.
During the search, a large transparent Ziplock bag containing a quantity of cannabis was found in his possession.
Based on the discovery, the Police conducted a search on the businessman’s premises where another two transparent Ziplock bags were found in a drawer in the kitchen area with ganja. In addition, the Police unearthed another bag hidden in a refrigerator with the illegal substance.
He was arrested and escorted to the Vigilance Police Station where the narcotic drug was weighed and amounted to 2.242 kilograms. He is expected to make his court appearance in the new week.
About a month ago, Police unearthed several bags of cannabis in an empty lot at Spliff Street Buxton, ECD. The cannabis was subsequently weighed and amounted to 160 grams.
