Buxton J’Ouvert and Mash Tramp for this weekend

All roads will lead to Buxton, on the East Coast of Demerara this weekend for what is anticipated to be the wash-down of Mash 2018. As usual, on the Saturday evening before the biggest Mash tramp on the East Coast, revellers and partyholics will get all dirty with the J’Ouvert party at the Buxton Community Centre Ground.
The event is promoted by DJ Father Moey and the Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) Regional Democratic Council. On Saturday evening, there will be enough water, paint and powder to ensure all have a grand time. Performing at the J’Ouvert will be Barbadian Lil Rick, Guyanese Jumo “Rubber Waist” Primo and Super Ray-One Man Band.
In addition, there will be four popular sound systems to make sure there is never a dull moment. Advance tickets to the event cost $1500 but more will be charged at the gate. The excitement continues on Sunday with the Mash tramp which will see over 15 bands participating.
The tramp starts at Melanie Damishana and will travel along the East Coast Highway and end at the Buxton Community Centre Ground for the Mash wash-down.
Performing live at event is Samantha Grand who is expected to settle things with Super Ray and Stichie. In addition, Michelle “Big Red” King and the Mighty Rebel will be adding some vibez to the eventing.
Tickets for the J’Overt party are available at the Buxton Gas Station; Ingrid’s Bar, Plaisance; Loisanne’s Plus Boutique, Wellington and North Road, Georgetown; or the Vendor’s Mall and Big Pig Barber Shop.
Sound, stage and lighting will be provided by Crown Vibes.
