BV astonish Tucville as 8th of May league continues
Action in the Beterverwagting/Triumph 8th of May Movement Emancipation Cohesion Football League, continued with Beterverwagting (BV) tackling Tucville under floodlights, at the BV- Play-ground on Republic Drive, Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara.
Steven Miller and Delroy Deen
With droves of vociferous spectators supporting one of the tournament favorites, Tucville, the BV home team asserted their dominance, showing Tucville that they will not be defeated on their own turf.
The home team, BV, wasted no time, and from the onset took the attack to the highly trained and skilled Tucville players, seemingly throwing them into a state of disorientation. Thus for the majority of the match, the Tucville players suffered from no possession of the ball with the BV players at the controls.
As the encounter neared the half time stage, BV had long crushed Tucville’s hopes and shocked the now quiet crowd. With goals from Delroy Deen, Reon Hopkinson and Steven Miller in the 10th, 14th and 18th minutes of the matchup, BV were now 3-0 against their opponents. Early on in the second half, Tucville’s first round triple scorer, Kerry Barker gave his team some form of redemption in the 60th and final minute of the game, nevertheless Bv already had it won with the scoreboard closing off on 3-1 in their favour.
The BV/Triumph 8th of May Movement Emancipation Cohesion Football League will continue later this week with the preliminary rounds already closed off. The league is sponsored by Bakewell, Lloyd W P Britton, G O Benjamin, GLDA, NAREI, ROC and Roy’s Pharmacy.
