The Belle Vue Sports Club (BVSC) was thrashed on their own turf by the Rockaway Cricket Team (RCT) in a T20
Man-of-the match Krishna Singh collects his trophy from Hafeeze Ali
contest over the weekend.
“The battle of supremacy” dubbed match, was highly anticipated over a lengthy period as both teams are sponsored by Hafeeze Ali of Rockaway Roti Shop, NY, USA.
The heights of excitement and anticipation built up as the match scheduled to begin at 13:00hrs but only to start an hour later.
RCT won the toss and elected to field, as they limited BVSC to only a below-par 86 for 9 off the allotted overs since they struggled against some master class all-round field performance by the RCT.
Krishna Singh picked up figures of 3 for 16 off of his three overs while Ravy Singh gathered 3 for 18 from his four overs.
Kevin Rampersaud struck in his second and third over leaving BVSC struggling at 2-1, as RCT made inroads into the BVSC batting line up they never seemed to have recovered with only K. Benneth managing 24.
RCT gunned down the target with 5.5 overs to spare only losing 4 wickets in their innings with Safraz Baksh was the only threat claiming 2 for 11 in his four overs.
Krishna Singh returned with the bat to top score 28 while Kevin Rampersaud and Ravy Singh chipped in with 23 and 18 respectively.
Krishna Singh was awarded the man of the match prize.
