Bynoe Jr donates Cricket kits to support U13 players across counties

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has acknowledged a donation of three cricket kits from Colin Bynoe Jr, which have been distributed to Under-13 players from Essequibo, Berbice and Demerara as part of efforts to support youth development at the grassroots level.

The recipients of the kits are Demarcus Thomas of Essequibo, Adrian Emmanuel of Berbice, and Hezekiah HohenKirk of Demerara.
Bynoe Jr said his decision to donate the kits was motivated by a desire to assist young players at the very beginning of their cricketing journey, noting that the cost of equipment can often be a challenge for parents.
“My motivation was quite simple. Cricket kit is expensive, and the aim was to reach players at the very start of their journey,” Bynoe Jr said. “This is a small contribution toward strengthening that foundation. Parents do face some challenges in securing a kit, so I thought it best to contribute in this way.”
He explained that the gesture is something he has long wanted to do and expressed hope that it could become an annual initiative.
“I always wanted to do something like this. Hopefully it can be an annual gesture,” he said. “At that age, under 13 to 15, feeling that someone believes in you can be just as important as the kit itself. It builds confidence.”
Each kit presented included one bat, one pair of white batting leg guards, two pairs of batting gloves, one kit bag, and two bat stickers.
Bynoe Jr also shared words of encouragement for the young cricketers as they continue their development.
“My message to them is this: take your development seriously, respect your coaches and teammates, and always be willing to work when no one is watching,” he said.
The Guyana Cricket Board has welcomed the donation, noting that initiatives of this nature contribute meaningfully to the growth of cricket at the youth level across the three counties.
