CAL supports First Lady’s “Shoes that Grow” project
Caribbean Airlines (CAL) is partnering with First Lady Sandra Granger to transport for free, shoes from New York to Guyana for her “Shoes that grow” project.
A team from CAL, the State-owned airline of Trinidad and Tobago, met with the First Lady on Thursday at her State House office. After the meeting, CAL’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Garvin Medera informed the Ministry of the Presidency’s Public Information and Press Services Unit that an agreement was signed to pave
the way for this new collaboration.
Medera said there is no established time frame for the period to which the service will be provided. He disclosed too that CAL is also willing to give support to other projects undertaken by the First Lady. “Shoes that grow” are specifically designed to ensure that they fit children as they age; the shoes are expandable. CAL’s Senior Marketing Manager, Alicia Cabrera and Interim General Manager, Georgetown, Carl Stuart, were also present at the meeting.
