Calling off “Dogs of War” not so easy

Dear Editor,
Reference is made to a most timely and important letter by Major General (retd) Joseph G. Singh, captured as a news item in a section of the media under the title, “Joe Singh calls on President to call off `Dogs of War’, let vote recount proceed,” in which President David Granger is respectfully asked to identify and “excise” the “minions” in the PNCR who, with help from their friends outside of the party, have wilfully undermined the PNCR Party Leader in a manner unheard of.
Specifically, the President is asked to “do the honourable duty of calling off the Dogs of War, excise them condignly from wherever they are hatching their moves and counter-moves.”
Guyana deserves nothing less, but time will tell. It may not be so easy. It is instructive and, arguably, relevant to note that the older folks may recall another disruptive period when a certain Founder Leader of the PNCR once said: “He who calls off the dogs own the dogs.”

Sincerely,
Rakesh Rampertab
