Campton and Santos FC secured battling victories, when the latest action of the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Premier League continued on Tuesday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC), Bourda.
Anthony Sancho was the man, who made the difference with a goal in the 70th minute to lead his side to a 1-0 victory over Beacons.
The win puts Campton in fifth place on 11 points while Beacon, who continues to struggle, remains on four points and in last position on the table.
In the other match of the double header, Santos held on to defeat Northern Rangers in feisty encounter.
Both sides looked threatening in the first half of the match, but a series of missed chances, prevent the score line from changing in the favour of any side.
Upon, the resumption of the second half, a rocketing attempt by Rangers’ Sunil Logan, surprisingly failed the reach the back of the net.
Santos eventually found the magic needed on the night, when Anthony Hall netted in the 77th minute to push his team to second place on 11 points while on the converse, Northern Rangers did not move and remain in sixth position on seven points.
The League is scheduled to continue on Tuesday at the same venue.
