Camptown defeated a dull Black Pearl 2-0 via skilful play and conversions from Okeri Codrington (3rd minute) and Ozelea Small (27th minute).
The improving Rangers won their game against Flamingo by an identical score. The youthful exuberance of Stephon Reynolds and Sunil Logan orchestrated the victory. Reynolds netted in the 5th minute, while Logan made his mark in the 29th.
The other match of the night was an exciting but goalless draw between Pele and Riddim Squad.
The competition continues with the final day of the round-robin segment on Monday, when Santos clash with Riddim Squad from 17:00 hrs, followed by the clash between GFC and Beacons from 19:00 hrs; after which Western Tigers will resist being arrested by Police FC from 21:00 hrs.
The tournament is played on a round-robin knock-out phase involving two groups of six teams. The top four teams from the respective groups will advance to the knock-out phase.
The teams are playing for first place prize of one million dollars and championship trophy, while second to fourth place finishers would respectively pocket $400,000, $200,000 and $100,000 and corresponding accolades.
