CANU unearths cocaine in coconut biscuit, mittai, chicken foot at CJIA

Ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Wednesday unearthed cocaine stashed in a box at the Eugene F Correia International Airport, Ogle, East Coast Demerara (ECD), destined for Brooklyn, New York, United States.
According to CANU, a 30-year-old woman of North Road, Bourda, Georgetown posted the box with 534 grams of cocaine stashed at the bottom of the cartoon. Reports are that a CANU officer checked the box before it was loaded on a flight destined for New York and found two parcels each wrapped in carbon and concealed in a false wall to the bottom. At the top of the box, CANU said, there was a quantity of coconut biscuit, mittai, chicken foot, and one packet of uncooked vermicelli. Several persons have since been questioned in relation to the matter, and the woman who posted the box has been detained.
