Car speeds away after hitting woman on pedestrian crossing

A 22-year-old female of Seaforth Street, Campbellville Georgetown is now hospitalised after being hit on Tuesday by a motorcar that sped away from the scene immediately after.
The woman alleged that at around 22:00h on the day of the incident, she was walking from the western end of Sheriff Street heading east on the pedestrian crossing when she was hit by a black motorcar that was proceeding north on Sheriff Street. As a result of that collision, the pedestrian fell and received injuries about her body.
However, instead of rendering assistance, the motorcar fled the scene.
She was picked up in a conscious state by a public-spirited citizen, and transported to the Woodlands Hospital, where she was treated for lacerations about her body. She was later admitted as a patient. Investigations are ongoing.
