A 25-year-old car wash owner was on Wednesday taken into custody following the discovery of a .32 pistol along with six live rounds of matching ammunition on Jackson Street, Tucville, Georgetown.
According to reports, Police acting on information received travelled to the location where they contacted the self-employed man and requested to conduct a search of the premises.
A search of the structure unearthed the pistol along with a magazine containing the bullets in the drawer of a table.
The man, who is not the holder of a firearm licence, was arrested and escorted to the East La Penitence Police Station, where he remains in custody pending further investigations and charges.
