Caribbean Airlines expands career caravan to 4 Guyana schools

Caribbean Airlines has expanded its education outreach efforts in Guyana through its Career Caravan programme, engaging students from four secondary schools as the airline marks the third anniversary of its sustainability programme.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the airline said it partnered with the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) to host the initiative at Annandale Secondary School, President’s College, Soesdyke Secondary School, and Diamond Secondary School between May 28 and 29.

The programme targeted students in Forms Three to Five and introduced them to career opportunities within the aviation and tourism sectors through presentations delivered by Caribbean Airlines representatives and tourism professionals.
The outreach activity was held shortly after Guyana’s 60th Independence Diamond Jubilee celebrations and formed part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to youth development across the region.
Caribbean Airlines country manager for Guyana and Suriname, Renatha Marshall, said young people remain an important demographic for the airline and that the Career Caravan provides a platform to engage future leaders.
Marshall also thanked the Guyana Tourism Authority for partnering on the initiative and acknowledged the Ministry of Education for facilitating the team’s engagement with students.

The Career Caravan is one of the flagship projects under the Education Pillar of Caribbean Airlines’ Sustainability Programme. Since its launch, the initiative has reached more than 137,000 students across the Caribbean.
According to the airline, the collaboration with the GTA demonstrates the value of partnerships, volunteerism and community engagement, which have been central to its sustainability programme since its introduction on June 3, 2023.
As the airline commemorates three years of sustainability initiatives throughout June, it said it remains focused on creating opportunities, strengthening communities and supporting future generations across the region.
