Ramdhani siblings progress to semi-finals

Number one Seeded player Narayan Ramdhani defeated Jehu Gaskin of Barbados: 21-11, 21- 12 in their singles clash to reach the Semi-Finals of the Caribbean Badminton International Championships (CAREBACO) in Aruba on Friday.Ramdhani proved why he is the number one seed, as he won easily to progress to the semis; him along with Priyanna Ramdhani have advanced to the semifinals.

Priyanna Ramdhani, the youngest player in the Carebaco Under-19 International at the age 14 defeated Cheyanna Burnett-Griffith of Barbados: 21-5, 21-2 to reach the Semi-Finals in Singles. This is a breakthrough for her and Guyana Badminton as it is her first step in the Under-19 Singles Events to reach so far and medal which will take her BWF World Ranking Points higher; her events are usually under-15.

Jonathan Mangra lost to Shea Michael Martin of Barbados: 21-16, 21-18 in the Quarter-Finals Singles.

 In the Under-19 Mix Doubles Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani Defeated Jascha Atmodikromo and Santusha Ramzan of Suriname: 21-10, 21-10 to reach into the Semi-Finals.   Finals for all Matches will continue in Singles, Doubles and Mix Doubles.

 All the Guyanese Players are playing the Semi-Finals to reach the Finals.

 Boys Singles-Narayan Ramdhani versus Cesar Adonis Brito Gonzalez (Dominican Republic)

Girls Singles-Priyanna Ramdhani versus Amanda Yearwood (Barbados)

Boys Doubles- Narayan Ramdhani and Jonathan Mangra versus Jade Allman and Joshua Smith (Trinidad)

Mix Doubles- Narayan Ramdhani and Proyanna Ramdhani versus Renaldo Sinanan and Jade Renales (Trinidad)

Meanwhile earlier in the tournament, the SUNBURST sponsored Narayan Ramdhani got a bye in the first round and was awarded a walk-over from Yonatan Linarez of Dominican Republic in the second round which took him straight to the Quarter-Finals. Jonathan Mangra was awarded a walk-over from Bryan Anderson Castro of Dominican Republic in the first round and defeated Jade Allman of Trinidad & Tobago: 21-14, 21-18 in the second round to reach the Quarter-Finals, and Priyanna Ramdhani got a walk-over from Nairoby Abigail Jimenez of Dominican Republic in the first round to get a place in the Quarter-Finals.

In the Under-19 Mix Doubles Narayan Ramdhani and Priyanna Ramdhani (Guyana siblings) defeated Efraim Van Der Linden and Thirsa Van Der Linden (Aruba siblings) to reach the Quarter-Finals : 21-5, 21-3.
