Guyana will be the proud host of the Caribbean Basketball U16 (CBU16) Championships, which would involve 16 teams from across the Caribbean. The spotlight is once again on Guyana and this time it is about the sporting future of our Caribbean youths.
Teams will be arriving in Guyana from July 1, 2016 and championship matches commences on July 3, 2016 and ends July 16, 2016. Participating will be the host team Guyana along with teams from Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Jamaica, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago.
This is a fabulous opportunity to see the ‘Caribbean’s best at their best’ as players and teams compete to be crowned Caribbean U16 Basketball Champions 2016. This is an event for the entire family and a competition that will be televised from Guyana to various countries across the Caribbean and further afield. This provides local businesses with an opportunity to support the event whilst advertising their organisation regionally as well as internationally. The Guyana2016 local organising committee (LOC) headed by Mr. Alex Graham is working with local and international partners to ensure that all the necessities are in place to make this event not only a success but one to be heralded as a jewel in Guyana’s crown.
