Home Sports Caribbean Cycling Championships to pedal off on August 12
The Caribbean Cycling Championships Road Race is set for Thursday, August 12, 2021 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The men’s road race will be 130 kilometres and the women’s road race 80km.
The races will be held just before the Pan American Cycling Championships, which start on Friday, August 13, 2021, with the time trials. For the Caribbean Cycling Championships Road Race, each team will limited to five male and three female riders.
These championships will serve as a qualification for the Pan American Youth Games scheduled for Cali, Colombia from November 25 to December 5. Seven qualification spots will be allocated in the U-23 category.
The time trial for the Caribbean Cycling Championships will be the same event as the Pan American Cycling Championships which are scheduled for Friday, August 13.
The teams should each comprise a maximum of 22 people: six riders of the category elite male, six riders of the category Under-23 male, six riders of the category elite ladies and Under-23 ladies, one delegate, one coach, one mechanic, and one masseur.
