Carmel crushes Brickdam 12-0

Carmel Secondary ensured they ended the final round-robin matches of the 5th Petra Organised Milo Schools Football Championships on a high as they crushed Brickdam Secondary 12-0 on Saturday at the Ministry of Education Ground.

Shaquille Cox led the route with a hat-trick, netting in the 9th, 14th and 37th and received support from Darron Niles (17th and 20th), Romel Maxwell (19th and 28th), Shaquille Baptiste (2nd), Ryan Fredericks (3rd), Shawn Harvey (12th), Stefon Duke (46th) and Romel Smith (51st). Similarly, Adrian Aaron hat-trick (5th, 10th and 16th), Meshach Barratt (41st) and Tyrese Forde eased Sir Leon’s Lesson to 5-1 over Richard Ishmael; Shemar Albert netted for the losers in the 21st. South Ruimveldt Secondary edged Christ Church Secondary 3-2 thanks to the heroics of Nergal McBean who hammered three goals into the net in the 55th, 57th and 60th to outdo Patrick Joseph’s double (19th and 40th).

In another close match, Queenstown got the better of Cummings Lodge by 4-3 on the back of a brace by Denzel Ross who netted in the 36th and 52nd and with support from Jermaine Padmore (26th) and Shaquille Stephens (50th). In a valiant effort by the East Coast unit, Keon Hamer (14th), Britton Capriano (19th) and Leonardo Wilson (21st) brought to the brink of victory.

The tourney will continue today at the same venue with another four matches. At 11:00h, Central High engages School of the Nations while former winner St. George’s battle Tutorial Secondary from 12:30h. The third fixture at 14:00h will bring together Queen’s College and Mae’s Secondary whilst Dolphin Secondary opposes North Georgetown from 15:30h in the final game of the day.
