stage their 17th annual father’s day 50 mile road race on Sunday June 19. The race is scheduled to start at 08:00 hrs in front of the Wales Police Station and proceed in and out of Scoonard then along the West Bank public road and all the way to Uitvlugt and back where it would finish at the Demerara Harbour Bridge.

The Senior cyclists may well look to use this meet to fine tune their preparations and gauge the competition ahead of the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) National Cycling Championships on June 26.

Last year’s race was won by the inform Orville Hinds of team Evolution in 1hour 55 minutes and 50 seconds while team Coco’s Jamal John won the juniors race and his teammate Junior Niles won the veterans category.

Deoraj Garbaran won the Mountain Bike category while Toshwana Doris won for the females.

Over 50 cyclists are expected to the grace the event that will have eight prime prizes while the top six seniors and top three juniors, veterans, mountain bikers and female’s finishers will all receive prizes.
