Fifty-four-year-old Denesh Rohit, a cattle owner from Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara (EBD), was granted bail on Friday on four counts of allowing animals to stray. The offences, Police stated, were allegedly committed within the Prospect Young Professional Housing Scheme, EBD, and the Farm Housing Scheme, EBD.
However, Rohit appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were read to him.
He reportedly pleaded not guilty to all four charges and was granted bail in the sum of $40,000. Rohit will return to court on June 26, 2026, as the matter continues.
