CBJ memorial 10/10 softball is this Sunday at Lusignan
In commemoration of the 20th death anniversary of Former president of Guyana, Dr. Cheddi B. Jagan, the Lusignan, East Coast Demerara central People’s Progressive Party (PPP) group will be hosting a 10 overs a-side softball cricket tournament which is set for this Sunday at the Lusignan Community Center Ground, ECD.

The organisers of the tournament are urging teams to come on board in the Male Open and over-40 categories with registration fee per team set at just $5,000 for either category.
The action is expected to get underway from 09:00h with the first of six sensational matches. Prizes for the top performers include trophies.
Additionally, the organizers will be providing balls, score sheets, water as well as lunch for each player of the 11 a-side teams.
As is customary with the event, executives and representatives from the PPP will be there to witness the action and assist with the presentation of prizes.
Cheddi Jagan was a Guyanese politician who was first elected Chief Minister in 1953 and later Premier of British Guiana from 1961 to 1964, prior to independence. He later served as President of Guyana from 1992 until his death in 1997. He is widely regarded in Guyana as the “Father of the Nation”.
