Leal who currently ranks third in the open category cycling, said he is certain that the other motorcyclist did not have lights on the bike and that contributed to the crash as the area is very poorly lit.
“I was heading up the Front Road (west to east) approaching cemetery road junction and just before the intersection is where the accident occurred.” Leal went on to add that “ it was a dark area and I was riding a motorbike with reasonable light and I figured the reason why I got into the accident was because the other individual I got in to the crash with had no light because if he had on lights I would have seen him and prevent it.”
The Traumatized youngster suffered injuries to his back, face as well as a broken right arm and toes on his right foot. Additionally, Leal has injuries to his leg, the same spot where steel was implanted a few years ago.
Meanwhile, the other unidentified individual suffered minor bruises about his body and was treated at the hospital and sent away within hours.
Leal said after the accident he was knocked unconscious and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by police ranks stationed at the West Ruimveldt Outpost located not too far from the accident scene, only to wake up in the hospital.
Even though the injuries are serious, Leal is not giving up on the sport he loves saying he is determined to make a comeback to the top of the sport once again.
“It’s a bit too early indeed to call it quits but to be honest there will be no quitting because cycling is a hobby I really love a lot and I mean even if this throws me off one, two, three even five years, whenever, I always have the passion for the sport and will always continue with it,” the Evolution rider said.
Back in 2013 Leal suffered a broken right hand and right foot as well bruises and a swollen left eye after he collided with a mini bus at Meadow Brook Gardens whilst training.
