Charlestown man found with grenade remanded

Thirty-six-year-old Devon Adams, a computer technician who plies his trade in the Charlestown/Albouystown wards of the city, was on Friday remanded to prison after appearing before Georgetown Magistrate Leron Daly to answer to a narcotics trafficking charge.
He denied that, on March 11, 2018, he had in his possession 2.510 kilograms of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
A second charge read to him stated that the Police also found a grenade in his possession.
Attorney-at-law Keoma Griffith, representing Adams in a bail application, said that Adams has two young children and his spouse recently died. Griffith told the court that the cannabis was not found on his client, but in a yard at Sophia occupied by several other residents, where as a contractor he was carrying out construction works.
The Police Prosecutor, however, objected to bail; giving as his reason that the Police have enough evidence to proceed with trial.
Bail was refused, and the case has been set to continue on April 5.
