“Choices” premiere and after-party for Tower Poolside tonight
If you have not had a chance to see “Choices”, a movie filmed in Guyana and produced by popular comedian Kelvin “Vicious” Fortune, then the place to be this evening is the Tower Hotel Poolside, Main Street, Georgetown.
The movie is about a young man falling in love, but his mother disapproves of the relationship.
The grand premiere of the movie this evening promises to be epic, especially with the live performances of Guyana’s Soca King, Brandon Harding and Chutney Monarch, Steven Ramphal. It will be a night to celebrate Guyanese and more so, one that recognises efforts of Fortune in making this film become a reality.
The film was shot at several locations, but opened at the Promenade Gardens. The recording of the film reportedly started with $1000, but ended up costing approximately $1 million. The short film was made possible by the group of young men and women, who wanted to become actors, directors, and stage managers among other film-based careers.
The film is expected to be taken to several secondary schools across the country including in Lethem, Linden, Essequibo and Berbice. The premiere and after-party at Tower Poolside is set to commence at 20:00h. Tickets cost $1000.
