Christ Church whip QC in tape ball tourney

The 2017 Inter Ward School boys’ six-aside cricket tournament sponsored by PKF Barcellos Narine and Co. bowled off last Saturday with a series of matches on the tarmac of the National Cultural Center, Hadfield street Lodge.
Batting first in the round-robin stages, Queens College made 31 runs in their allotted overs while Christ Church Secondary sped to 32 in 3.2 overs to win the match. Charlestown Secondary snatched a last ball win over South Georgetown Secondary School after the latter made 55-4 in their six overs before Charlestown ended on 56.
Queenstown then beat Cummings Lodge after the latter scored just 41 batting first, as they failed to defend the runs with the Queenstown side cruising to 43 off their six overs. Christ Church, after advancing then whipped Tucville Secondary in a low scoring encounter after the eventual losers could only muster 30 runs, to which the former chased down to end on 38.
The competition which is sponsored by the Royal Tape Ball Cricket Academy, continues this Saturday from 9:30h with the knockout stages at the same venue.
