Christianburg-Wismar gets backboard from LABA/Brusches Classic/Think Green Organisation
The Christianburg-Wismar Secondary ‘Multi’ School of Region 10 is the recipient of a brand-new Spalding adjustable, shatter-proof, regulation-size, all-weather basketball backboard.
The presentation was held last Thursday in the compound of the school, where President of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA), Lawrence Simon, presented the equipment to Ronon Stephens, a teacher and an assistant basketball coach at that school.
The presentation was made on behalf of the LABA, Brusches Basketball Foundation, and the Think Green Organisation.
In his remarks, Simon said, “This will enhance basketball in the school, and support the clinic that we propose to launch soon: basketball within the secondary schools.”
Simon disclosed that LABA would be engaging the Ministry of Education to launch the programme, which will target secondary schools across Linden; and as resources are received, other schools would benefit.
