The Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) in collaboration with the Guyana School of Agriculture, the Triumph Community Development Council, and the Triumph/Agriculture Road Policing Group, on Sunday, held a medical outreach for the general public at the Guyana School of Agriculture, Mon Repos, East Coast of Demerara (ECD).
The primary purpose of the outreach was to provide medical assistance to the community and surrounding area in general. The residents were able to have their blood pressure and glucose levels tested, HIV and STDs testing, and access to mental healthcare, with medical advice from general and specialty doctors.
The medical team was able to provide care to over 150 persons inclusive of children, the elderly, and the differently able.
Along with the medical care provided, the residents present were issued with packages that catered for basic daily necessities, inclusive of face masks, toothpaste, clothing, and diapers (both children and adults), sustenance, and provision of over the counter and prescription medication.
The CIOG expressed thanks to the members of the Triumph Community Development Council and the members of the Agriculture Road Policing Group for their hard work, dedication, support, and cooperation and to all the supporting partners.
The outreach was supported by the Guyana Cancer Foundation, Mike’s Pharmacy, National Blood Transfusion Services, and the National AIDS Programme Secretariat.
