Citizens Bank to open on Saturdays at 4 branches

Citizens Bank Guyana Inc has announced the introduction of extended Saturday banking hours at four of its branches to provide customers with greater access to banking services outside of regular working hours. The bank said its Camp Street and Mandela Avenue locations in Georgetown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) and Bartica, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) branches will open on Saturdays from 09:00h to 12:00 noon, beginning July 11 and continuing until August 29, 2026. The Saturday service will not be available on August 1, which is a public holiday. During the extended hours, customers will be able to access several services, including the opening of personal accounts, reactivation of dormant or inactive accounts, issuance and collection of debit cards, registration for e-banking services and submission of retail and consumer loan applications.
The loan applications accepted during the Saturday sessions will include personal loans, residential or housing loans and vehicle loans. Citizens Bank said the initiative is aimed at improving access to its services for customers and members of the public who may be unable to visit branches during regular banking hours. The bank encouraged customers to make use of the extended service period at the participating branches.
