Clinical Headquarters capture Commissioners’ T20 Cup

Headquarters continued their dominance in the Commissioners of Police T20 Cup with a commanding victory over Officers on Thursday at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary.
After winning the toss, officers elected to bat first and posted a competitive 133 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Ravindradat Budhram anchored the innings with a patient 33 from 51 deliveries, striking three boundaries to steady the top order.
The middle order then injected much-needed momentum into the innings. Christopher Barnwell played a brisk knock of 25 from 12 balls, while Stephen Harris added 27 from 23 deliveries to keep the scoreboard ticking. A late flourish from Ivor Trotz, who blasted 22 from just nine balls, proved crucial in lifting the Officers to a respectable total.

Kapildeo Charandeen was the pick of the bowlers for Headquarters, finishing with impressive figures of two for 13. He was well supported by Dwain Dick, Parnell London and Kanhaiya Ramkarran, who each claimed one wicket to keep the officers’ batting in check.
In reply, Headquarters made light work of the target, racing to 134 for two in just 13 overs to seal a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.
Andrew Lyght Jr guided the chase with a composed unbeaten 49 from 37 balls, striking four fours and two sixes. Dwain Dick produced a more aggressive display, smashing 49 off just 23 deliveries to dismantle the officers’ bowling attack. Parnell London also contributed significantly with a quick-fire 30 from 18 balls to ensure there were no late hiccups.
The emphatic win secured Headquarters their fourth consecutive Commissioners of Police T20 Cup title, further cementing their status as the dominant force in the tournament.
With both disciplined bowling and explosive batting on display, Headquarters once again proved why they remain the team to beat in the annual competition.
