A 23-year-old pork-knocker of Saffron Street, Charlestown, Georgetown, was on Sunday arrested following the discovery of a quantity of ganja and cocaine at the Kurupukari Police Outpost, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo).
Based on reports received, Police acting on intelligence, intercepted a vehicle at the Police Outpost and conducted a search during which 1667 grams of marijuana and 171 grams of cocaine were unearthed in a bucket of butter.
The illegal substances were reportedly concealed in several taped parcels. After the discovery, the Charlestown resident admitted ownership and as such, he was arrested and is assisting Police with the investigation.
