Cocaine, ganja, gun found during Police raids

Police have unearthed drugs and a gun during separate raids in Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice Corentyne).
Reports are that on Wednesday at about 15:45h, a 53-year-old was searched by ranks at Matthew Allen Road, New Amsterdam. Policemen acting on information received, discovered a 9MM RECK 92 military pistol and a magazine without rounds on the suspect.

He was arrested and taken to the Central Police Station.
Meanwhile, also in Berbice during search exercises at residences at Number 65 Village, Corentyne and Timmers Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, and East Canefield, East Canje on Tuesday, Police unearthed two parcels of cocaine weighing nine and 10 grams respectively, and suspected cannabis weighed at 500 grams and 100 grams respectively.
Two suspects were arrested.
Subsequently, a raid carried out by police ranks on an empty open lot at Kildonan Village, Corentyne, Berbice, led to the discovery of one black plastic bag containing seeds leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis, and one transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of whitish rock-like substance, suspected to be cocaine.
The narcotics suspected to be cannabis amounted to 35 grams and, and the suspected cocaine amounted to 15 grams.
A search was also carried out on the suspect and at his residence where some 75 grams of suspected cannabis was found. He was arrested and taken into police custody.
