Colombian man who choked Venezuelan female in court remanded

Colombian national Alberto Jose was on Thursday remanded to prison for allegedly assaulting a Venezuelan female when he appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court.

The Police have said that on the day in question, the accused, while being escorted into the court to answer to the above charge, jumped the prisoner’s dock while being handcuffed and held on to the complainant’s neck, choking her in the presence of the Magistrate.
He was, however, restrained by a constable performing sentry duties, and escorted to the lockups.
Jose has been further remanded to prison until March 30, 2022.
