Often described as the epitome of determination and strength, one of Guyana’s most promising young table tennis players, Kaysan Ninvalle, is gearing up to represent Guyana on the regional stage once again.
This 13-year-old, who has shown his dominance with the paddle in hand over the past 8 years, will set out once again to represent Guyana at the Caribbean Mini-Cadet and Pre-Cadet Table Tennis Championships.
In light of this, Colours Boutique has seen it fit to gear up the young man once again, as he prepares to compete in the Dominican Republic next weekend.
Speaking on behalf of the benevolent company, store representative Creanna Damon stressed on the boutique’s commitment to sports and aspiring athletes. The representative also highlighted that the company is aware of, and is very proud of, Kaysan’s achievements prior to and during the course of their sponsorship.
“On behalf of the management and team of Colours boutique, I would to take this opportunity to congratulate Kaysan for the excellent playing he has been doing so far. I just want to wish him the best in his future endeavours,” she stated.
In reply, Kaysan had an outpouring of gratitude towards the company for the timely contributions.
“Thank you to my sponsors for all the equipment; it has made me a better tennis player. It will also push me further to play harder and focus more,” the 13-year-old said.
Despite having to compete in a higher category this time around, Kaysan is ready to battle from August 26-31. He noted that he would have to put in much more work this time around. “I expect that I would have to fight, and put my mind to it,” he said.
Speaking on plans for the future, the young man sees himself progressing through the table tennis ranks over the next few years. He is hopeful of getting opportunity to participate in the largest international sporting event, come 2020.
“In future, I hope to attend the World Championships for my country, and also to reach the Olympics in 2020,” he confidently stated.
When he competed in 2016, the youngster copped gold in the “11 and under” category of the same competition. Additionally, he is Guyana’s “15 champion”, one category higher than his actual range.
