Defending champions Bounty Colts were unstoppable as they defeated Ravens when play continued in the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Road to Mecca V Club Championships at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Sunday’s games saw a youthful Bounty Colts team trounce an old but experience Ravens squad 72 -59 points in the feature showdown. The all-Linden battle had Bulls winning against Retrieve Raiders 74-64 while Pacesetters’ pace was too hot for the Jets who were defeated 90-79 and Nets edged past Eagles 68-66.

On Saturday when the tournament commenced, newcomers Eagles defeated Kobras 63-51, then Colts trounced Bulls 99-50, Royals sank Nets 78-61 while in the feature game, Ravens defeated Guardians 65-57.
The tournament resumes on Wednesday from 18:00 hrs with three matches. Eagles taken on Pacesetters in the first match then Kobras face Nets and Plaisance Guardians oppose Bounty Colts to wrap up the night
The 12 teams will battle for the coveted title and winner’s purse of $600,000 while second takes home $400,000 and third – $200,000.
