Colts go back to back with thrilling victory over Royals
Road to Mecca IV Final
Defending National basketball club champions, the Bounty Colts retained their title with a narrow victory over Victory Valley Royals on Christmas Eve and made history by becoming the first club to win the Road to Mecca the title consecutively.
Playing at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall Colts led by an impressive performance from Shelroy Thomas managed to pip the Victory Valley Royals by two points to retain their title and walk away with $600,000.
Thomas racked up 28 points, 5 steals and 2 blocks to help the Colts to an 85-83 victory. Thomas was ably assisted Dave Causway, Stanton Rose and Shane Webster who recorded 12 and 11 points respectively.
Putting up a stern resistance for the Royals was Harold Adams with 25 points; Adams supporting cast came in the form of Orlan Glasgow who contributed 19 points while Chris Williams and Yannick Tappin had 13 and 12 points respectively.

Bounty Colt’s Shane Webster copped the accolade for Most Valuable Player. Webster had a tournament total of 95 Points, 58 Rebounds, 8 Steals and 4 Assists and received $100,000 for his efforts.
Meanwhile the Royals’ Harold Adams racked up the most points scored in the Tournament with 122 Points while Webster had the most rebounds snatching 58. Adams and Webster received $50,000 each.
The second placed Victory Valley Royals received $400,000 for their valiant effort.
In the third place play-off the Kobras Beat Dynas Ravens by a single point (75-74) to pocket $200,000.
The Kobras were led by Travis Burnette with 34 points while Mark Richards and Jermaine Slater had 12 and 11 points respectively.
Dynas Ravens put up a good fight but fell just short as Dominic Vincente turned in an admirable 21 points while Ryan Stephney and Tyrone Hamid had 14 and 17 points respectively.
