Road to Mecca V…
The preliminary round of the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation’s (GABF’s) ‘Road to Mecca V’ National Club Champions concluded on Saturday with four matches at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Royals recorded the highest score of the tournament when they took on Jets and won 104-84; while Pacesetters, Ravens and Plaisance Guardians also claimed wins.
Pacesetters sank Nets 93-71, Ravens blew away Canje Knights 91-64, and Guardians outplayed Raiders 97-62.
The respective semis between Ravens and Kobras and Colts and Royals were scheduled for last night, while the tournament wraps up next Saturday, April 28.
Championships prizes for the tournament will see the first and second placed teams carting off $600,000 and $400,000 respectively; while the third placed team claims $200,000.
