Defending champions Bounty Colts turned in yet another dominant performance in the recently commenced Road to Mecca V National Basketball Club championships on Wednesday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).
The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) organised event saw Colts record their third consecutive win with a 75 -58 triumph over Plaisance Guardians in the feature game.
Shane Webster and Timothy Thompson led the way for the defending champs both putting up 16 points while Stanton Rose chipped in with 14. Guardians found themselves in a disarray as they were hugely outscored in the first and final quarters while marginal gaining the upper hand in the second and third.
In the opening encounter saw Pacesetters clipped Eagles’ wings 79 – 69, while Kobras got past Nets 65-56 in quite an evenly matched battle which saw the team which made fewer mistakes grab the win.
Mecca V continues on Friday April 13 with another three scheduled matches at the CASH from 18:00 hrs. Eagles and Amelia Ward Jets get proceedings underway then Berbice Canje Knights oppose Retrieve Raiders at 20:00 hrs then Victory Valley Royals takes on Pacesetters to wrap up the night from 22:00 hrs.
Half time entertainment will be provided by the Euphoria Dance Group along with the Cheerleaders.
