Combined phase bowls off March 7

GCB/DMLAS/MOE/NSSCL 2016-17

The National Secondary Schools League (GCB/DMLAS/MOE/NSSCL) is set to advance to the combine stages, which will realized the amalgamation of players from the various schools within Districts from across the country.

This merging of players, referred to as the Combined Schools, will see the players with outstanding performances and those who demonstrated good promise, being earmarked by the selection committee of the NSSCL for training and district representation.

This aspect of the league, is scheduled to commence on Tuesday March 7, 2017, when the Upper Demerara Combined Team competes with the Highway Combined District from 09:30 hours at the Bayroc ground in Upper Demerara.

Wednesday March 8, 2017 will feature Mahaica Combined Team playing the Mahaicony Combined Team at the Fairfiled ground, with a selective Mahaica-Mahaicony Combined District team being selected thereafter to compete with the East Coast Demerara District Team on Friday March 10, 2017 at the said venue.

On Thursday March 9, 2017 the merger of players from the Upper Demerara-Highway District will do battle with the East Bank Demerara Combined Team, after which match, players will be selected to represent the Upper Demerara- East Bank Combined District to play the West Demerara Combined District Schools’ team.

All Combined matches across the country will be of One Day 50 overs format and are scheduled to commence at 09:30 hours on each of the designated playing days. The players of the representative districts will be competing among and against each other for the coveted National Combine District Championship Trophy.

To date, a number of District teams have been either shortlisted or selected.
