As competition intensifies at the Miss World pageant, Guyana’s representative Nuriyyih Gerrard is optimistic that she will make the cut in the final 20 when the names are announced on the night of December 18. 
However, several preliminary competitions are already underway and with a week to pageant night, the 104 delegates from across the world will be competing in the multimedia competition.
This year, the Miss World Committee has integrated with mobile app Mobstar to select the winner of the talent competition and the multimedia portion of the competition.
The winner of the talent competition will be chosen through Mobstar and will be fast-tracked automatically to the Top 20 semi-finalists of Miss World 2016 on December 18.
In addition, the winner of the multimedia competition will also be chosen through Mobstar and will also be fast-tracked automatically to the Top 20. However, the Top 10 finalists for talent were announced earlier this week and include Poland (singing), Hungary (acrobatics), Latvia (dancing), Mongolia (magician), Chile (violinist), Croatia (singer), Malta (dancing), Philippines (singing), Ukraine (pianist and dancing) and Canada (pianist).
Although the 24-year-old Guyanese beauty and psychology student did not make it in the top 10 in the talent competition, she is open minded and is ready to impress the world with her beauty, charm and elegance.
Hailing from the East Coast of Demerara, Gerrard is a Radio Jockey at Guyana’s 94.1 Boom FM. She is also the co-host of “Jumpstart Morning Show” and more so, an excellent poet and theatre actress. Guyana Times Entertainment wishes Miss Gerrald the best of luck on the international stage.
