Dear Editor,
While there is merit in the call from a member of the joinder party, an MP who also happens to be Deputy Speaker, for international assistance in the hiring process of the next GECOM CEO and other top functionaries, I am equally convinced that the Chairperson, in her prudence, judgement and diligence, has made the prudent decision to not go that route.
She is confident the Commission has the capability and capacity to undertake the interview and selection process in a professional and efficient manner. Such confidence must not be seen as misplaced, but must be given every opportunity to succeed.
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
