Consistent Jamual rides to victory in Hand-in-Hand feature

Team Coco’s Jamual John continued his consistent season by clinching the 15th annual Hand-in-Hand 35-lap Cycle Race at the National Park in one hour, 15 minutes, 48 seconds.

In producing another outstanding finish, Jamual continued to show his prowess as a sprinter.
In yesterday’s 35-lap main event there were 36 starters, and Team Evolution’s Paul De Nobrega returned to form by finishing in second position, while Briton John rode in third position. Other top finishers were Team Evolution’s Christopher Griffith(fourth), Curtis Dey (fifth) and defending Hand-in-Hand champion Michael Anthony (sixth).
Jamual John copped four sprint prizes while Briton John took two. Dey and Christopher Cornelius each took one.
In the earlier races, Junior Niles won the Veterans Under-50 five-lap race in 13 minutes five seconds. Kwame Ridley rode in second, while Jaikarran Sukham completed the race in third position.
Ian Jackson dominated the Veterans Over-50 race, while Andy Spencer and Kennard Lovell rode in respective second and third positions.
In the Juveniles 10-lap affair, Sherwin Sampson rode in first in a time of 21 minutes and 56 seconds, while Aaron Newton rode in second position. Darius Ramsammy had two sprint prizes in the Juveniles race.
In the Novices Mountain Bike race, Nigel London copped one sprint prize.
The BMX Boys 6-9 years’ 2-lap event saw Lennox Jackman clinching the first spot, while Aditya Deokaran rode in second and William Green came in third. (Brandon Corlette)
