A 42-year-old construction worker from Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD) has been taken into custody on Wednesday after he was found with a quantity of narcotics in his possession.

Police have said that at approximately 11:00h on Wednesday, ranks visited the suspect’s home and contacted him about a report of domestic violence made against him on Tuesday. A search was conducted on his person, and a transparent plastic bag containing several pieces of a ‘creamish’ brick-like substance suspected to be cocaine was found in his front pants pocket.
He was arrested and taken to the Police station, where the narcotics were weighed and amounted to 8.1 grams. He remains in custody pending charges.
