Construction worker critical after colliding with motor car

A construction worker is now in a critical condition after his motorcycle collided with a car along the Friendship Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), on Tuesday.
Injured is Eon Anderson, 41, Lot 88 Vigilance North, ECD.
Based on reports received, the accident involved a motorcycle driven by Anderson and a motor car driven by a 30-year-old man of Non-Pariel, ECD.
The car was reportedly driving along the East Coast Highway and in the vicinity of Vigilance, the driver slowed down after observing two police ranks performing their duties.
As the driver passed the police, he reportedly accelerated his vehicle and at Friendship, he collided with a motorcycle which was attempting to cross the access road onto the public road.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the car lost control and ended up in the Friendship Burial Ground. Nevertheless, Anderson reportedly fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries about his body.
He was picked up by public-spirited citizens in an unconscious condition and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was admitted a patient suffering from head injuries and a fractured left foot.
A breathalyser test was conducted on the driver of the motor car and the reading was below the legal limit of alcohol consumption. Investigations are ongoing.
