Home News Construction worker gets bail for attempting to chop neighbour
Fifty-six-year-old construction worker Raymond (only name given) appeared on Friday before Wales Magistrate Rochelle Liverpool to answer a charge of threatening his neighbour Jermaine Boyer by brandishing a cutlass at him on April 30 at Goed Fortuin, West Bank Demerara.
The prosecutor told the court that Raymond armed himself with a cutlass and attempted to chop Boyer last month.
Raymond, who was never placed before the court, at first entered a guilty plea for making use of threatening language, but he denied the allegation that he had armed himself with a cutlass.
As such, the magistrate entered a not-guilty plea on his behalf and placed him on $10,000 bail. He will make his next court appearance on July 5, 2018.
